North East Delhi Lok Sabha is situated in the North-East, Central, and Shahdara districts of Delhi. It is among the 7 Lok Sabha constituencies in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. This constituency emerged in 2008 as a part of the enactment of the proposal of the Delimitation Commission of India comprised in 2002. This LS constituency is ruled by migrants from Bihar and UP. As per the 2011 Census, the rural and urban population is 0% and 100% respectively out of the total population of 27,15,753.

The ratio of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is 16.82% and 0% respectively out of the total population. According to the 2020 voters list, there are 23,74,680 voters and 2,149 polling booths in this constituency. In the 2019 Parliamentary Election, the voter turnout was 63.86% while there was a 67.32% voter turnout in the 2014 parliamentary election. The AAP, INC and BJP got 13.06%, 28.85%, and 53.9% votes respectively in the 2019 parliamentary election, whereas in the 2014 parliamentary election the AAP, INC, and BJP got 34.31%, 16.31%, and 45.25% respectively. Manoj Tiwari of the Bhartiya Janata Party is the current Lok Sabha Member of Parliament of the North-East Delhi parliamentary constituency.

Manoj Tiwari of the BJP defeated Sheila Dikshit of the Indian National Congress by achieving 53.9% of the votes posted in this constituency. In 2019 North-East Delhi went to polls on 12 May 2019 in Phase 6. It observed 63.66% of its registered voters turning out to vote against 67.29% in the preceding national elections held in 2014. Manoj Tiwari beat his close opponent Sheila Dikshit on the verge of 3,66,102 votes. While Tiwari secured 53.9 votes, Sheila Dikshit, runner-up polled 28.85 votes. During the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, North East Delhi recorded 6,15,214 voters. Among them 2,81,593 were females and 3,33,621 were males. The constituency had noticed a 73.71% voter turnout. In 2014 male voter turnout was 73.42% whereas 74.04% of female voters turned out for casting votes. 17 candidates had competed in this constituency among which 5 participants were women candidates.

Manoj Tiwari: Current Member of Parliament of North East Delhi Lok Sabha

Manoj Tiwari is an Indian leader, actor, and singer working as a Member of Parliament from North-East Delhi. He competed in the 2009 General Election as a candidate of the Samajwadi Party from Gorakhpur Lok Sabha but failed to Yogi Adityanath. Again he competed in the 2014 Indian General Elections as a candidate of the Bhartiya Janata Party and also won. He was assigned as a BJP President of Delhi in 2016. He was the chief of the BJP organization in Delhi when the party registered a victory record in the 2017 MCD election. He was a competitor in Big Boss Season 4.

Tiwari competed in elections for the 15th Lok Sabha as a Samajwadi Party candidate in 2009 in the Gorakhpur constituency. He had braced for Ramdev’s hunger strike at the Ramlila ground protests and objected to the arrest of Anna Hazare. He triumphed from the North East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency in the Indian general election of 2014 from BJP. He beat Anand Kumar from AAP on the verge of 1,44,084 votes. In the 2019 General Elections, he competed against Sheila Dikshit of the Indian National Congress and won on a verge of 3.36 lakh votes.

North East Delhi Lok Sabha: The North-East Delhi parliamentary constituency was formed in 2009. In the first election, Jai Prakash Agarwal of the Indian National Congress won the election. Shri Jai Prakash Agarwal is a politician from INC and was a representative of the Parliament of India who spoke for North-East Delhi in Lok Sabha. He beat the Bhartiya Janata Party candidate on the verge of over 200,000 votes in the 2009 Indian General Election. But he lost to Manoj Tiwari, candidate of the Bhartiya Janata Party on the verge of about 380,000 votes in the 2014 Indian General Election.
