David Warner, explosive Australian opening batter is expecting to take retirement in January 2024. In an interview Australian batter David Warner said, “I am expecting to take retirement in January 2024 against Pakistan. The 3 test match series with Pakistan will be my last series. The last test match against Pakistan in Sydney will be the last game of my international career.”

Earlier on many previous occasions, he gave the signal of his retirement. In 2022, David Warner gave a hint of his retirement when he said, “I wanted to play ICC ODI World Cup 2023 and hopefully it will be last World Cup”.

Currently, David Warner is preparing for the WTC Final 2023 against India. He will open the innings along with Usman Khwaja. Warner will look to score some high runs against India as he failed to deliver for his team during the Indian tour. He got injured after the 2 games and Travis Head replaced him as the opener.

David Warner is the only player in Australian cricket history of 147 years who got selected for the Australian International without playing domestic cricket. He made his debut against South Africa in Melbourne. In his very first match, he scored 89 runs off 43 balls. He smashed South African bowlers all over the park. He also won the 2015 World ICC ODI World Cup and ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Warner was named Player of the Tournament in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

He also plays for Sydney Thunders, NSW, and DC. Warner led the Delhi Capitals in the absence of the captain Rishabh Pant. Delhi Capitals finishes on the 9th spot with 5 wins in IPL 2023. David Warner is known for his aggression but his team Delhi Capitals won the Fairplay Award of IPL 2023.
