IND VS AUS DAY 2: The partnership between Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin prevented Australia to take a big lead in the 2nd Test on Day 2. They both made 114 runs partnership in 30.3 overs for the 8th wicket. India was struggling when they both entered the crease. The Indian team was down 7/139 runs. Australian bowlers were all over the Indian batters. Kangaroos did not allow Indian batters to score runs freely. They kept the bowling in the right length and line which awarded them in the form of wickets.

Axar Patel scored 74 runs from 115 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes. Meanwhile, Ashwin made 37 runs from 71 balls with the help of 5 fours. Australian skipper Pat Cummins broke the partnership by dismissing Ashwin at the hands of Matthew Renshaw.

Nathan Lyon destroyed Indian Top Order

IND VS AUS DAY 2: Nathan Lyon’s tight bowling did not allow the Indian batter to score runs. He kept on bowling in the right areas and ultimately got the result. Lyon forced Indian batters to commit mistakes and to throw his wicket. He dismissed the batters like KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shreyas Iyer, and KS Bharat. Nathan Lyon finished his figures with 5 wickets for 67 runs from his 29 overs with an economy of 2.31.

Nathan Lyon dismissed Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara in the same over. He set up Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma beautifully by bowling better lines. He got the wicket of Rohit Sharma on the straighter one.

IND VS AUS DAY 2: India unpauses the innings from the overnight score of 0/21. Both the openers played cautiously for some time but Nathan Lyon had some other plans. The 1st Indian wicket fell on 46 runs when KL Rahul dismissed Nathan Lyon. Just after some time, the Indian score became 4/66 runs. India lost their 4 wickets in the space of just 20 runs.

IND VS AUS DAY 2: Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli tried to build the partnership to gain some momentum. They both made 59 runs partnership in 27 overs for the 5th wicket. Australian off-spinner Todd Murphy broke the partnership by dismissing Jadeja on 26 runs from 74 balls. Jadeja smashed 4 fours in his innings. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli made 44 runs from 84 balls with 4 fours before getting LBW out to the Australian Debutant Matthew Kuhnemann.

IND VS AUS DAY 2: Australia lead by 62 runs in the 2nd innings at Stumps on Day 2. Travis Head is not out on 39 runs from 40 balls with 5 fours and 1 six. The World No.1 batter Marnus Labuchagne is not on 16 runs off 19 balls. Labuschagne hit 3 boundaries in his small innings yet. The only wicket which fell was of Usman Khwaja dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja. He got out on 6 runs from 13 balls with the help of 1 four. Australia will keep an eye on the big total on Day 3 to restrict India under a certain score to draw the series.
