Vadodara Lok Sabha is one of the 26 Lok Sabha constituencies in Gujarat, a state in Western India. This constituency enfolds 7 out of 10 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the Vadodara district. The first election was held in 1957 as Baroda Lok Sabha constituency in former Bombay State (Present day Gujarat). It has been called Vadodara since the 2009 elections.
Fatehsinghrao Gaekwad was the first member of parliament of the Indian National Congress who was also re-elected in the next elections in 1962. At the time of the Gaekwad dynasty, he was the Maharaja of Baroda. P C Patel of the Swatantra Party won the election in 1967. Gaekwad was the MP of this constituency from 1971-80 again firstly as a member of the Indian National Congress and then as an associate of INC. Ranjitsinh Pratapsinh Gaekwad, his younger brother also of INC represented the constituency from 1980-89 for two terms prior to being defeated by Prakash Brahmbhatt of the Janata Dal party in the 1989 election.

In the state of Gujarat the Vadodara Lok Sabha constituency is currently held by Ranjanben Bhatt of the Bhartiya Janata Party. Bhatt defeat Prashant Patel of the Indian National Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha election by gaining 72.3% of the votes posted in this constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election Vadodara advance to polls on 23 April 2019 in phase 3. It observed 67.86%of its recorded electors turning out to vote, against 70.90% in the earlier National elections held in 2014. Ranjanben beat his nearest opponent Prashant Patel on the verge of 589177 votes. Whereas Bhatt gained 72.3 votes, runner-up Prashant Patel polled 24.1 votes.
Vadodara Lok Sabha: In the 2014 elections, Vadodara had 1,594,531 recorded electors among which 834,571 were male and 759,960 were female. The constituency had observed a 57.53% voter turnout. The male voter turnout here was 62.25% and the female voter turnout was 52.35% in the 2014 Lok Sabha election. A total 16 number of candidates competed for this constituency. Among which women candidates participated were two.

Vadodara Lok Sabha: Current Member of Parliament
Ranjanben Dhananjay Bhatt acts as an Indian politician and also a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. She has been an associate of the 16th and 17th Lok Sabha. Bhatt existed as Deputy Mayor of Vadodara. She is acknowledged for heading and running the “Women’s Club” for the previous 22 years. From the Vadodara constituency, she was selected to the 16th Lok Sabha in the 2014 Bye-elections.
Vadodara Lok Sabha: Bhatt has been a representative of the Consultative Committee in the 16th Lok Sabha and also a representative of River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, also the Ministry of Water Resources. She stands as a representative of the Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare from 2014 to 2016. Also during 2016-2019, she was a representative of the Standing Committee on the industry. She was re-appointed to the 17th Lok Sabha in the 2019 Indian General Election from the constituency of Vadodara and was determined as a representative of the Standing Committee on Railways.
