T20 WC 2026: The T20 World Cup will come back to Asia in 2026, thanks to India and Sri Lanka winning the bids to host the event. The big news was made by the ICC on August 17. The T20 competition will be held in Sri Lanka for the first time since 2012, whereas India last staged it in 2016 and 2020, the competition was contested in the UAE in 2021 due to the COVID outbreak.
In the following cycle, India will have the privilege of hosting three ICC competitions. Including the 2026 T20 World Cup and the 2031 50-over World Cup when it will serve as the joint host nation alongside Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, correspondingly.

T20 WC 2026: India would co-host simultaneously the 2026 Twenty20 World Cup and the 2031 One-Day International World Cup. Although as per a modified schedule for important international tournaments released by the International Cricket Council on November 16.
Within the next ten years, 3 cricket world championships will be in India. India is formally selected to host the 2023 men’s ODI World Cup.

Twenty teams will be separated into 4 groups of 5 each for the T20 WC 2026, which the ICC views as their means of growing the game. The top 2 teams will advance to the Super Eights round. The elimination rounds followed by semifinals and a championship game. The 55 contests that each T20 World Cup set for 2024, 2026, 2028, and 2030.

Africa, Asia, and Europe will each have 2 qualifying berths. Besides, the Americas and East-Asia Pacific each will have 1.
