India vs South Africa 30th T20 World Cup Match: In the Super 12 match of the T20 World Cup between India vs South Africa at Optus Stadium, Perth. South Africa defeated India by 5 Wickets. This win puts them on the top of the table of Group 2. Batting first India batsman Surya Kumar Yadav 68 runs off 40 balls helped India to put a decent total of 133/9 on board in 20 overs.
In reply, the African team achieved the target in 19.4 overs for the loss of five wickets.

India vs South Africa: The decision to bat first after winning the toss did not went in favor of India. Team India lost both the openers inside the batting Powerplay. South Africa bowler Lungi Ngidi removed both the Indian opener in the batting Powerplay. Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scoring 15 runs off 14 balls while KL Rahul was dismissed after scoring 9 runs off 14 balls. Right after the batting Powerplay in the 7th over Virat Kohli smashed back to back boundaries to Lungi Ngidi but after getting smashed for back to back boundaries in two consecutive delivery. Ngidi took his revenge on the fifth ball of the over by removing Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli scored 12 runs in 11 balls. It was his first low score in the tournament. Deepak Hooda who was selected in place of Axar Patel in the Indian team, came to bat on number 3 but he too got out without opening his account. Lungi Ngidi’s excellent bowling effort, did not allowed team India’s top order to stay.

Surya Kumar Yadav scored another 50 fifty for India

Apart from Surya Kumar Yadav no other Indian batsman could contribute anything special. Surya Kumar Yadav scored 68 runs off 40 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes which helped India to post a decent total on the board. India finished their innings on 133/9 in 20 overs. For South Africa Lungi Ngidi took 4 wickets while Wayne Parnell took 3 wickets and Anrich Nortje took 1 wicket.

India vs South Africa: Team India came out to defend the small target of 134 runs, the Indian bowlers bowled well, Arshdeep Singh took two wickets in his first over. He removed Quinton de kock 1(3) and Rilee Rossouw 0(2). India had dismissed 3 South African batsmen in the first 6 overs. Indian Bowlers done well in first 10 overs. South Africa manage to score only 40 runs with the loss of 3 wickets in the first 10 overs. As usual South Africa skipper Temba Babuma also failed in this game and gone cheaply to get out to Mohammad Shami.

Miller and Markram took over the line

The pair of David Miller and Aiden Markram fought hard and added 76 runs for the fourth wicket. Markram got many lives. Virat Kohli dropped the catch of Aiden Markram at deep mid-wicket off Ravichandran Ashwin bowling along besides some close run-out chances cost India dearly. He took advantage of this and played an innings of 52 runs in 41 balls. Star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya removed Markram and after the dismissal of Markram, Miller took his team over the line. He remained not out on the field till the end. In the last over, South Africa needed six runs to win. The fourth balls of Bhuvneshwar’s over gave the South African team victory by hitting four on it. David Miller scored 59 runs in 46 balls and remained unbeaten. South Africa won by 5 wickets.

With this win, South Africa team has 5 points in three matches. They are now reached the top of the table in Group-2 of Super-12. South Africa also left behind India (4), Bangladesh (4) and Zimbabwe (3) in the group. They are likely to qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup from Group 2.
