Ban vs Zim: Bangladesh won by 3 runs in a thrilling match, tremendous drama on the last ball

Ban vs Zim 28th T20 World Cup Match: In the Super 12 match of the T20 World Cup between Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe at the Gabba, Brisbane. Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 3 runs in a thrilling match. Batting first Bangladesh finish their innings on 150/7 in 20 overs.

Chasing a target of 151 runs. Zimbabwe need 16 runs in the final over of the match, Zimbabwe made 11 runs from the first 4 balls, leaving just 5 runs to be scored from the final 2 balls. Zimbabwe were on 146/7 in 19.4 overs but on the second last ball of the match Bangladeshi bowler Mosaddek Hossain got Richard Ngarava stumped out.

Then Blessing Muzarabani came to bat for Zimbabwe. They need 5 on the final ball. Blessing Muzarabani were on the strike and Mosaddek Hossain to bowl his final ball of his over. Mosaddek Hossain bowled  a wide arm delivery from round the wicket and Blessing Muzarabani came down and swung the bat hard but unfortunately missed the ball. His back foot was out of the crease and Bangladeshi keeper Nurul Hasan did the rest. He took off the bail  and blessing found short of the crease.

Zimbabwe’s batter had also considered himself out and Bangladesh were declared the winners by 4 runs. The two teams shook their hands and the players walked back to the dressing room but the matter was reversed in the review. Nurul Hasan caught the ball in front of the wicket. For this reason it was declared as a no-ball.

The players were again called to the field by the umpire. Mosaddek Hossain’s delivery was a free-hit for Blessing Muzarbani, but he could not even hit the ball with the bat. In this way Bangladesh won the exciting match by three runs.

They now have moved to the second position in the Group 2 after this contest. South Africa is been slipped to the third position after Bangladesh.

Ban vs Zim: Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first

Ban vs Zim: The decision to bat first after winning the toss did not go in favor of Bangladesh. They lost two of their main batsmen inside the batting Powerplay.

Zimbabwe bowler Blessing Mujarbani removed both the Bangladeshi batsman Soumya Sarkar 0(2) and Litton Das 14(12) in the batting power play. Zimbabwe bowlers did well in the Powerplay; they kept bowling in the right areas which did not allow Bangladesh batsmen to score runs easily but Bangladesh Captain Shakib Al Hasan along with Najmul Hossain added 54 runs for the third wicket.

Najmul Hossain scored 71 runs in 55 balls. He completed his fifty in 45 balls and Captain Shakib Al Hasan was dismissed after scoring 23 runs in 20 balls. Apart from them, Liton Das returned to the pavilion after scoring 14 runs in 12 balls. Afif Hossain was given LBW after scoring 29 off 19 balls. Apart from this, none of Bangladesh’s batsmen could touch the double figure and Bangladesh finished their innings on 150/7 in 20 overs.

For Zimbabwe Blessing Mujarbani took 2 wickets for Zimbabwe. Richard Nagrawa took 2 wickets for 24 runs. Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams also managed to take 1-1 wickets.

Ban vs Zim: Chasing a target of 151 runs

Ban vs Zim: Zimbabwe did not get a good start. They lost 4 wickets on the score of 35 runs only. They lost Wesley Madhevere 4(3), Craig Ervine 8(7), Milton Shumba 8(15) and Sikandar Raza 0(3) early. Zimbabwe lost 4 wickets on the score of 35 runs only. On the other hand Sean Williams tried to fight back. He added 34 runs partnership with Regis Chakabwa for the fifth wicket.

Regis Chakabwa was dismissed after scoring 15 runs in 19 balls. Half of their team returned to the pavilion within 12 overs. After this, Williams also shared a partnership of 63 runs with Ryan Burl for the sixth wicket. During this Williams also completed his 50 runs. He played an innings of 64 runs in 43 balls but unfortunately got run out by Shakib Al Hasan.

Zimbabwe needed 16 runs in the last overs but the team could not score that many runs and lost the match by 3 runs.

For Bangladesh Taskin Ahmed has taken 3 wickets while Mustafizur Rahman and Mosaddek Hossain took 2 wickets each.

Bangladesh team goes up in their group table

With this win, Bangladesh team has 4 points in three matches. Now they reached the second number in Group-2 of  Super-12. They also left behind South Africa (3) and Zimbabwe (3) in the group. While Team India is on top with 4 points after winning both their matches.
