IND vs SL ODI: Sri Lankan bowler’s disastrous spell

Of course, everyone’s statistics remained a disaster, with Rajitha giving away 88 from a possible 10, and his starting pair Dilshan Madushanka almost gave 7 runs per over. The pitch wasn’t really friendly to spinners. Additionally, the outfield was quick.

IND vs SL ODI: Gill and Rohit’s spectacular 143 run partnership

Gill‘s knock was the most flawless of India’s stellar ones because it depended so much on his impeccable rhythm, especially on the offside. And the inning was what initially made it obvious that a huge sum was about to be reached. In the first few overs, he smacked average, average-length balls straight through the offside.

Rajitha was the bowler on each of Kohli’s missed catches, one at 52 and the 2nd at 81. Other than that, he raced through the later innings. Kohli was merciless to spinners’ width mistakes and powerful through the line versus the pace bowlers. He rushed Shanaka to smash him over mid-on for his 1st boundary. Virat Kohli came along the line and hit a 6 from Dhananjaya de Silva past wide mid-on to reach his 50.

IND vs SL ODI: Kohli’s relentless batting earned India a big score

IND vs SL ODI: At this point, after around 35 overs had been completed, Kohli and Rahul were engaged in a collaboration that produced 90 runs off of 70 deliveries. Kohli had strokes throughout, but he produced a lot of runs in the area around mid-on and midwicket. India was already approaching 350 as Kohli reached his 100 off his 80th delivery.

Yet, India only scored 70 runs in its final 9 overs, in the phase due to Kohli not exactly bursting in the end as he might have liked. An aggregate of 400 was possible at 303 for 3 following 41 overs.

The beauty than just the force of Kohli’s performance was indeed another very stunning characteristic. Although having a strike rate of above 125 when striking, Kohli infrequently used the airborne approach. He attacked close to the ground while still keeping the scoreboard moving quickly. Kohli grabbed a single on Kasun Rajitha’s 2nd delivery of the 47th over to get yet another 100, giving him back-to-back centuries in ODIs. In the 3rd ODI the previous month versus Bangladesh, Kohli had hit 100 runs.

Dasun Shanaka’s century went ineffective

The Sri Lankan Team struggled to get going while attempting to score the necessary 374 runs. Whereas Fernando was initially out for 5 runs by Mohammad Siraj. Kushal Mendis was then clean-bowled for 0.

Pathum Nishanka, the opening batsman, served as the cornerstone of Sri Lanka‘s innings by scoring 72 runs off 80 deliveries. Dhananjaya de Silva scored 47 runs in 40 deliveries in addition to him. Skipper Dasun Shanaka scored 108 runs off 88 deliveries, an undefeated inning that featured Twelve 4s and Three 6s. Shanaka’s  ODI campaign has 2 centuries prior to this one.

Umran Malik grabbed 3 wickets

Indian bowlers put on an amazing striking display. In this game, Umran Malik claimed a maximum of 3 wickets. His economy rate at the time was 7.10. Mohammad Siraj grabbed 2 significant wickets while simultaneously with an economy rate of 4.30.
