NED vs ZIM: Zimbabwe could not put their act together, importantly with their bat. The Netherlands did mishandle a bit in the chase but eventually recovered the line. A disappointing batting from Zimbabwe conveys that the bowlers did not have much work to do with. Especially the mindblowing start that Netherlands’ top three gave the hunting side. Some late wickets made the Netherlands win moderately iffy.

Max O’Dowd the Player of the Match, said that he was just chasing to have more runs. It was important to adapt to the wickets.

It is the first time Adelaide Oval is hosting the match. Zimbabwe and Netherlands played T20I for the first time at the venue. Dimensions were short, square of the wickets on either side and were stretched to about 81 metres. 

Scott Edward remarked that they had come here to win some games at super 12. It was good to get a good start on the show. Max has been awesome for the past five years. He does amaze me on big occasions. And today also did a great job.

Zimbabwe Was Tied Up Out For 117

NED vs ZIM: A below par score on what looks like a satisfactory surface to bat on. But Paul van Meekeren led the way with three strikes, Logan van Beek, Brandon glover, and Bas de Leede too scratched in with a brace each. Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams have brought back Zimbabwe’s innings with a counter attack. They had taken advantage of the short boundaries, changed their approach and given Zimbabwe’s innings a much-required lift 53/3 in 10 overs. Seam Williams fall when it appeared that Zimbabwe was promising to take into control. A second strike from Paul van Meekeren, the southpaw, gets the top edge as he tried a pull a short ball and caught 63/4 in 11.5 overs. Zimbabwe bowled out for 117 in 19.2 overs with some amazing bowling by the Dutch. Sikandar Raza hit 40 runs off 24 balls for Zimbabwe, including three fours and three sixes.

Meanwhile, Paul van Meekeren took three wickets those of Brandon glover, Logan van Beek and Bas de Leede captured two dismissals each.
