IND vs NZ: India won the opening match of the 3-match ODI series by a margin of 12 runs, giving the home team a 1-0 lead. India chose to bat initially after winning the toss.

Shubman Gill scored 208 runs off 149 deliveries earlier during the day to enable India to amass a mammoth score of 349/8 in 50 overs. With their incredible hits, Michael Bracewell and Mitchell Santner nearly put an end to India’s celebration in Hyderabad, but the home team ultimately prevailed. With a 12-run triumph to start the series, Rohit Sharma and company took a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. New Zealand sacrificed half of their squad within the first 25 overs of their 350-run chase due to a sluggish beginning during IND vs NZ encounter. Bracewell and Santner’s strong connection, though, preserved New Zealand’s competitiveness.

Indian Openers gave a spectacular start

IND vs NZ: India raced off to a fast beginning thanks to Rohit and Gill, however, when Santner proceeded to put consecutive precise overs, the batsmen continued to tumble. But Gill had a gorgeous appearance. He displayed his contemptuous pulls, extra-cover drive, and back-foot punch. Gill attempted to knock spin down right away, which was a refreshing change from how India often plays in these circumstances. Tom Latham lost the grab of Gill after his initial effort, which produced an outer edge off a non-turning Bracewell offbreak. Gill refused to give in. He slog-swept a 6 to get 52 off 52 deliveries in the same over.

IND vs NZ: After Lockie Ferguson returned to knock Ishan Kishan out, Gill and Suryakumar Yadav looked dangerous in a 65-run partnership in 53 deliveries. The moment Suryakumar nicked Daryl Mitchell clear to the covers, New Zealand gained momentum.

Immediately following Suryakumar’s departure in the 30th over, Gill reached his century with a 6 and a single. India was behind and unable to fully capitalize in the overs prior to the last powerplay. As a result of a questionable ruling, they lost Hardik Pandya in the 40th over, delaying their last kick. By the moment Glenn Phillips performed a wonderful grab to get clear of Gill, he had smashed 19*4s and 9*6s to complete his 208.

IND vs NZ: Expecting for either the ball to drag underneath spotlights or even for dew or both, New Zealand had to alternatively confront Siraj & Mohammed Shami in red-hot shape. With the fresh ball, Siraj has already been concentrating on his outswingers, but this encounter saw a shorter margin of movement than normal. So, in his 3rd over, Siraj made a wobble seam. He used the seam motion to defeat Devon Conway earlier before testing him on the hook.

But Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep pulled New Zealand behind them.

IND vs NZ: Bracewell’s 140 runs gave fear to the Indian side

IND vs NZ: When Thakur attacked Allen to get him captured at deep midwicket, Allen was initially bounced. The batsmen were left for dead because they failed to interpret Kuldeep from out of his hand. After Henry Nicholls was dismissed for a duck, Daryl Mitchell reverted to a rapid yet full-stock delivery. Kuldeep and Thakur combined to deliver 11 straight overs for 42 runs and 3 wickets.

India quickly felt the burden of playing beneath the lights that they desire. Bracewell destroying each bowler. India started to stumble during IND vs NZ contest. They bowled wides since they attempted broad approaches. The ball slid as they made aggressive lengths tactics, allowing Bracewell to strike.

IND vs NZ: Henry Shipley delivered and Santner was caught by Siraj, who also took 2 wickets. Additionally, wickets were again in action. But Bracewell discovered another breeze, striking Shami for a 6 and a 4 in the 48th, and Pandya for two 6s in the 47th. Rohit supported Pandya to deliver the 49th when 24 needed to be off the final 2 deliveries. Pandya did not let down. With a slower ball, he caught Ferguson and only gave up 4 runs.

But ultimately, Bracewell, who was trying to move across and elevate it nicely, was caught by a Thakur yorker.
