IND vs AUS: Australia defeat India in the 3rd test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at Holkar Stadium, Indore. India further delay their path to the ICC World Test championship final, while Australia confirm their spot in the WTC final to be played at Lords in June.

India after winning the toss on day 1 opted to bat first in IND vs AUS 3rd test. Australian spinners were quick to adapt to the conditions. Matthew Kuhnemann struck early for Aussies on the opening day picking up 5 wickets. India scored 109 runs in their 1st innings.

Usman Khawaja laid the foundation for Australia in their 1st innings. Khawaja looked more calm & composed scoring 60 runs. Australia were on top at the end of Day 1 leading by 20 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja dismissed the top order of the Australian’s on day 1. On day 2 Australia looked like they were in for a heavy lead. Peter Handscomb and Camron Green batted for the 1st hour without losing thier wicket.

Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin picked up back to back wickets in quick succession bowling out Australia for 196 runs in their first innings on Day 2 of the IND vs AUS 3rd test. Australia had a sizable lead of 88 runs which proved to be good enough on a tricky turning track.

Australia lost their last 6 wickets for 11 runs and India were right back in the game. Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 3 wickets each, while Ravindra Jadeja ended with 4 wickets.

IND vs AUS: Australia ace spinner Nathan Lyon had the task in his hand and he produced one of the best spin bowling spells ever. India trailing by 88 runs in their 2nd innings lost early wickets. Shubman Gill trying to be aggressive lost his wicket early in the 2nd innings. Soon after Indian captain Rohit Sharma was trapped leg before by Nathan Lyon. India were in trouble early losing both their openers. Nathan Lyon once again got the wickets early in the2nd innings. Australia were on top before Cheteshwar Pujara arrived at the crease.

IND vs AUS: Pujara played with a positive intent on end while India kept losing wickets at the other end. Virat Kohli once again failed to score at a crucial moment. Indian were in early trouble once again. Inform batsman Ravindra Jadeja was trapped leg before by Lyon. This is the 1st instance since 2020 where Jadeja failed to score more than 10 runs in two innings of a test match.

Shreyas Iyer counterattacked for a while but couldn’t stay longer as he was dismissed by Mitchell Starc after scoring 26 runs. Pujara was the lone batter that got India to the lead with his gutsy half century. Nathan Lyon then wrapped up the Indian innings by picking up 8 wickets in the 2nd innings.

IND vs AUS 3RD Test: Australia had to chase down 75 runs at the start of day 3. Ravichandran Ashwin picked up the wicket of Usman Khawaja on the very 2nd ball of Australia’s 2nd innings. Australia chased down the target in 18.5 overs. Travis Head scored 49 runs in 53 balls and Marnus Labuschagne scored 28 runs.

Australia after losing their first two games win the 3rd game of the series and qualify for the IC World test Championship final. India will have to win the final test match to qualify for the WTC final.
