With the Dutch Eleven Team, Luis van Gaal hopes to advance in the 2022 World Cup quarterfinal match against the Argentinian side. As the Netherlands’ head coach, Van Gaal is unbeaten. After 19 games in charge, he had 14 victories and 5 draws. Before this encounter, he scored 2.47 goals per game on aggregate. On the other side, Lionel Scaloni, the current boss of Argentina, has now overseen 54 games.

NED vs ARG Quarterfinal: Netherland’s Strengths and weaknesses to eye upon

NED vs ARG Quarterfinal: In every position on the pitch, the Oranje possess access to a plethora of youthful potential, with PSV forward Cody Gakpo spearheading the charge. Other promising talents to keep an eye on the defenders are Tyrell Malacia and Jurrien Timber.

The Dutch are quite numerous on defense. While Stefan de Vrij, Matthijs de Ligt, Jurrien Timber, and Daley Blind are all functioning well for their major European teams, Van Dijk is still a great player despite his current lack of form.

By using a 3 center back system and getting as numerous of his finest defenders on the pitch as he can, Van Gaal will try to capitalize on this dominance.

Competence is the main factor on the Dutch side that is absent. Despite his accomplishments for both national side, Van Dijk has never participated in a significant international competition. Due to an ACL rupture, he was unable to play in Euro 2020. And the Netherlands lost out on both the 2016 and 2018 World Cups.

Former seasoned leaders Bruno Martins Indi and Giorginio Wijnaldum did not make the team alongside Van Dijk. Leaving just Frenkie de Jong and Daley Blind as the two constant stalwarts.

The Dutch Eleven must outperform their own aspirations in the 2022 World Cup in a fight against time. Notwithstanding representing a team that many predicted would advance this far in the competition, they have delivered some excellent achievements. Cody Gakpo, the top scorer for the Dutch Eleven, has been crucial in raising awareness of the Netherlands. The Netherlands has four games left in the 2022 World Cup without losing. But it will be interesting to see how Van Gaal lines up his team to stop Messi at this crucial time of the tournament.

NED vs ARG Quarterfinal:  Players to be looked upon

NED vs ARG Quarterfinal: Virgil van Dijk, a defender for Liverpool who has grown into one of the top players in the globe since joining the team, leads the Dutch team. Van Gaal faces difficulties at the defense despite having a wide range of choices since the Orajne boss has had a tough campaign at the club football.

Memphis Depay of Barcelona, who has kept up his international form while playing a supporting position for Barcelona, is their major goal-scoring menace.

Argentina’s Strengths and flaws

Argentina’s ability to penetrate has become one of their strengths in big competitions. However, the Albiceleste are in control of the game’s tempo this time around thanks to a tough, coordinated, and incredibly skilled passing midfield.

If they can use their first-choice starting 11, this team doesn’t have many weaknesses. Although it hasn’t yet harmed them, the goalie position is the team’s Achilles’ heel. Martinez of Aston Villa has developed a cult status thanks to his exploits as a regular for his nation. Particularly in penalty shootouts where he transforms into an Argentina player. However, he has had inconsistent performances for his squad thus far. And if he is out of shape, their final line of defence is vulnerable.

Argentina’s journey to the quarter-finals

NED vs ARG Quarterfinal: The Argentinian side took the first position in the competition with six points. Followed by Polish side in 2nd spot with 2 points.

The Lionel Scaloni team began their quest with a dismal 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia. But rebounded impressively with two straight 2-0 wins over Mexico and Poland.

Argentina challenged the Group D runners-up since they achieved first in Group C. Argentina faced the Australians in the round of 16, as Australia placed second to the French side in that pool.

Argentinians to keep a watch on

NED vs ARG Quarterfinal: Lionel Messi does not have to perform everything as he did in many of Argentina’s previous tournaments when players would pass the ball over to him in the hope that he would come up with the game-winning play alone.

Messi’s function today is more of a coordinator. And by doing so, he avoids being required to do so on every offensive and instead gets to specify the instances in which he believes he can dominate a game.

On their nearly unbeatable run, players like Leandro Paredes and Rodrigo De Paul frequently stood out. Argentina is probably dominating a contest if they are strumming in it.
