In extra time, the central defender cleared Nicolas Tagliafico’s shot off the mark, which was critical for Poland.

Szczesny’s Brilliance

Although the game was very one-sided and Poland seldom encountered the ball in Argentina’s half. The deadlock persisted as soon as central defenders kept collecting a steady stream of crossings.

Poland’s defense failed to resist the Argentinians

The Polish goalie constantly appeared to be the only one battling Scaloni’s blue-and white tide. After Mac Allister’s perfect pass, Szczesny customarily does little miracles to prevent Alvarez. But he eventually finds himself unfairly judged to have given up a penalty. Following a nudge on Messi’s head with a hand as the two clash following the ball has passed.
