In Mathura’s 2019 Parliamentary Constituency election, various parties took part in the election and wrestled to maintain the top, among others. The voters’ numbers vary, resulting in the election’s winner. Hema Malini, the candidate of the Bhartiya Janata Party, scored 671,293 votes, whereas Rashtriya Lok Dal, Kunwar Narendra Singh, scored 3,77,822 votes. In the third position, Mahesh Pathak of the Indian national congress gets 28,084 votes.

Hema Malini: The Star Persona

Hema Malini, born on 16th October 1948, is a director, Indian actress, producer and politician. She is basically known for her Hindi movies. She gave her first acting debut in 1963. The film was known as Idhu Sathiyam, which is in Tamil. She acted in a major role in ‘Sapno Ke Saudagar’ in 1968.

She got hitched to Dharmendra, who is also an actor, in 1980. People know her through the comic and dramatic films where she is of the mainstream actresses in Hindi cinema. Throughout her career, she has won many awards, like the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award and the Film Fare Special Award in 2019 for contributing 50 years to Indian cinema.

Malini: Political Career

Malini was elected to the Rajya Sabha from 2003 to 2009. She was elected as a representative of the Bhartiya Janata party. In 2014, Malini was elected to lok sabha.

In 2014 Mathura lok sabha seat was won by BJP. Here the famous actress Hema Malini defeated Jayant Choudhary of RLD by 330743 votes. RLD was second, BSP remained third, and SP remained fourth that year. In the year 2014, 1682269 voters participated in Mathura Lok Sabha election. Among them, 44% were women.

There are 5 Vidhan Sabha constituencies under this Parliamentary Constituency. The literacy rate is about 72.65%. Here the male literacy rate is 84.39%. The female literacy rate is about 54.39%.

In 1999 Malini campaigned for Bharatiya Janata party candidate Vinod Khanna, a past bollywood actor, in the Parliamentary Constituency elections in Gurdaspur,  Punjab. She officially joined BJP in 2004. She worked as an MP to the upper house, which is known as Rajya Sabha. Malini was nominated by the then-President of India, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam. The first Parliamentary Constituency election was held in 1957. There were two independent parties, and one was the Indian National Congress. The other was ABJS (Akhil Bhartiya Jana Sangh). Raja Mahendra Pratap of the Independent party scored 95,202, which is the highest of all votes. Candidate Chaudhary Digambar Singh from the Indian National Congress scored 69,209 votes. Another Party of Independent was in the third position, scoring 29,177. The party’s candidate name was Pooran. Atal Bihari Vajpayee scored 23,620 votes from the party ABJS.
