KAR vs UTR Day 1: Uttarakhand struggled with their batting from the start with their top order having a sluggish start. Karnataka won the toss and elected to bowl first and produced a brilliant display to overpower the Uttarakhand side with their bowling attack at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. M Venkatesh grabbed 5 wickets on Day 1 of the Quarter-Final. Uttarakhand’s poor batting could only produce 116 for all out in 55.4 overs.

KAR vs UTR Day 1: Uttarakhand openers faced quite a few balls with energy but bowlers like Venkatesh and Kaverappa didn’t allow them to score freely.

The 22-year-old Venkatesh shook the top order by eliminating opener Jiwanjot Singh and removing Avneesh Sudha and Dikshanshu Negi early. The decisive blow to Uttarakhand was delivered by the Mysore pacer’s grab of Chandela by Manish Pandey.

KAR vs UTR Day 1: Chandela who had become a set batsman till then had scored 31 off 103 deliveries. Venkatesh who was playing his debut First-Class match seemed unstoppable with his bowling ability.

While spin bowler K Gowtham cleaned out the bottom with 2 wickets of Mayank Mishra and Deepak Dhapola.  Aditya Tare, a wicketkeeper-batsman for Uttarakhand, had high hopes to score big runs but was cheaply dismissed by the delivery of Kaverappa.

Akhil Singh Rawat’s resisted quite a lot of balls but failed to counter it from M Venkatesh’s fierce bowling.

When Karnataka batted in response, it appeared as though they were on a different wicket since both of their openers, Ravikumar Samarth and Mayank Agarwal, appeared to be in top form as they both reached unbroken 50s.

Samarth smashed 7 boundaries, whilst Agarwal had 9 shots to the fence in addition to his total. Both batsman completed their half- centuries. Karnataka skipper Mayank Agarwal scored 65 off 86 deliveries and on the other side, Ravikumar Samarth produced a brilliant knock of 54 runs off 74 deliveries at Stumps. Karnataka side were 123 for 0 at the conclusion of the day and with the lead of 7 runs.
