HBL PSL Final 2023: Lahore Qalandars beat Multan Sultans by 1 run in the epic thrilling encounter of the HBL PSL Final 2023 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Lahore Qalandars successfully defended their PSL Title and won this for the 2nd consecutive time this PSL trophy. In a nail-biting final, Multan Sultans fell short of just 1 run at the end. Lahore Qalandars posted a huge total of 200/6 against the Multan Sultans. In response, Multan Sultans could only manage to score 199/8 inside the 20 overs. Shaheen Shah Afridi is been named the Player of the Match for his excellent all-round performance with the bat and ball. He scored 44 runs in the 15 balls with 2 fours and 5 sixes. Shaheen Afridi also took 4 wickets with the ball in the Final.

Lahore Qalandars won the HBL PSL Final 2023 to successfully defend their HBL PSL Title. This is the second consecutive time Lahore Qalandars won this trophy. Lahore Qalandars equals the record with Islamabad United to win the title 2 times. All credit goes to the Lahore Qalandars skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi. He is been exceptional throughout the PSL tournament, especially in the Eliminator 2 and HBL PSL Final 2023. In a critical situation against Peshawar Zalmi, he came out to bat and put his team over the line to chase down the target. Meanwhile, in the final Shaheen once scored crucial runs with the bat. He smashed 44 runs off 15 balls with the help of 2 fours and 5 sixes.
HBL PSL Final 2023: Multan Sultans lost 2nd consecutive final against Lahore Qalandars
Mohammad Rizwan’s Multan Sultans lost the 2nd consecutive HBL PSL Final against the Lahore Qalandars. In the last edition of HBL PSL, Multan lost to Lahore Qalandars by 42 runs while chasing 181. Multan Sultan made it to HBL PSL Final 2023 for 3rd consecutive time. On the first occasion, they won the Title against Peshawar Zalmi in 2021. In 2022 and 2023, both times Multan Sultans lost to the Lahore Qalandars by 42 runs and 1 run respectively.
Shaheen Afridi’s 2 crucial turning point moment
HBL PSL Final 2023: At one time Lahore Qalandars were struggling to make 150 runs in HBL PSL Final 2023. They were 112/5 after 14.1 overs. Shaheen Afridi’s explosive innings explode the Multan Sultans bowlers everywhere in the park. He hit all of his 5 sixes against the Multan Sultans’ best bowlers. He hit 2 sixes against Ihsanullah and 2 sixes against Abbas Afridi. These two were the top bowlers of the HBL PSL 8 and for the Multan Sultans as well. He scored quick 44 runs from 15 balls and remained not out.
Till the 17th over, Multan Sultans were cruising at the target of 201 runs. They were settled in the match. Shaheen Afridi himself came out to bowl the 17th over. He took 3 wickets in an over and tore away the Multan Sultans’ batting firework. He dismissed Tim David on the very first ball of the 17th over and then Anwar Ali and Usama Mir on the consecutive balls of the 17.5 and 17.6. These two were the turning point moment of the match which decided the fate of Lahore Qalandars’ victory.
