The second Qualifier of CPL 2022 saw an epic game between GUY vs JAM.

The fantastic match between the Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Jamaica Tallawahs was held at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday, September 29.

Despite coming up short against the Barbados Royals in Qualifier 1, the GUY has been in full form as a team since the last couple weeks.

The team has won 4 out of 5 matches with their spin attack coming with goods consistently. 

As for JAM, the team has shown a good bowling performance in their Eliminator win against Saint Lucia Kings.

Coming back to the second qualifier match, the winner of the match i.e, Jamaica Tallawahs will now face Barbados Royals for the finals. 

In the GUY vs JAM match, Jamaica Tallawahs has won and now has entered in the finals of CPL 2022.

Jamaica defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier 2 by 37 runs.

Now JAM will play against Barbados Royals in the finals on Saturday, October 1, at around 4:30 AM IST.

GUY vs JAM Match Highlights: GUY won the toss and opt to bowl

In the starting of the match, the Amazon Warriors won the toss and decided to opt the field first. It seemed like it was an excellent decision as they reduced the Jamaica’s to 37/3 in the Power Play. 

However, Shamarh Brooks showed one of his all time great CPL innings to guide Jamaica Tallawahs to a season high 226/4. 

Brooks remained unbeaten with 109 runs off 52 balls while Imad Wasim, plundered 103 runs from the final 5 overs to take the game away from Amazon Warriors. 

Amazon Warriors Chasing 227 Runs

It looked like the chase was going to be hard for the Amazon Warriors and indeed it was proved later.

Despite losing Mohammad Amir to injury the Tallawahs bowling was a controlled performance that kept their opponents in check throughout the game.

Though Keemo Paul performed a good innings of 54 runs off 37 balls but apart from him no was able to stay with him to pull off the match. 

Earlier the Guyana Amazon Warriors had looked like they were taking control of the game when Raymon Reifer was dismissed for 22 runs to leave Tallawahs 124/4 with 5 overs to go. 

However, Brooks and Wasim came together and showed an unbelievable performance at the back end. 

Brooks Hit a Century

Brooks hit a T20 century while Wasim made an unbeaten 41 runs off 15 balls to all but he indeed helped in securing the Jamaica Tallawahs a place in the finals of the Hero CPL 2022.

For the chase of large 227 runs, Amazon Warriors needed a lightning start in the Power Play.

And they make sure about that as the team had secured 62 runs with the loss of 3 wickets in the process thereby handling the Jamaica had to be advantageous.

However, wickets from Amazon Warriors continued to fall one after another at a regular interval as the Jamaica’s bowlers put the squeeze on their opponents. 

Imad Wasim was the star, who turned to lead the bowling unit with 2/25 in the absence of Amir.

At the end of the match, the Guyana Amazon Warriors had secured 189 runs with the loss of a total of 8 wickets. 

As a result, Jamaica Tallawahs won the game against the Guyana Amazon Warriors with a large margin of 37 runs. 

Now Jamaica Tallawahs have to get ready to face Barbados Royals to secure their third Hero CPL title.

Barbados Royals Last Performance

Speaking of Barbados Royals, in the first qualifier match, Royals defeated the Amazon Warriors.

The bowlers from Amazon Warriors were seen struggling in the first qualifier game as Royals posted an amazing score of 195 runs on the board.

Amazon Warriors were chasing a large number of 227 runs but seemed to falter. As the top scorer, Shimron Hetmyer, made 37 runs and the total score of the team was stuck at 108. 

As a result, Barbados Royals won the first qualifier game against the Guyana Amazon Warriors with a large margin of 87 runs.

Though in the last season, Royals has finished at the bottom but this season the team has bossed their way to the finals.

This season, Royals has only lost 2 games out of 11 matches that they have played so far. However the one of match that the team had lost was against Jamaica Tallawahs.

So the tomorrow’s match will be more interesting to watch as Royals will try their best to win the match against Jamaica, their team definitely don’t want to lose against the Jamaica once again.

In the upcoming match of Saturday, October 1, both teams, Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Royals will give their all to secure the title of Hero CPL 2022.
