On Monday night, the England vs Germany football match took place at Wembley Stadium. During the match, England’s team rallied from 2 goals down to take a momentary lead before drawing a 3-3 with Germany in a thrilling match for UEFA Nations League.

The second-half goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Kai Havertz seemed to have made Germany on their way to victory however Luke Shaw and Mason Mount levelled the score in just 5 minutes.

Later England was awarded a penalty due to which Harry Kane converted to give a side a brief lead before Havertz went to reach the final scoreline.

Both the teams were off the table for Nations League as England is already relegated to the competition’s second tier and Germany came third into their last match.

However Monday night’s game has an importance for the 3 Lions as it marked their final test ahead of the start of World Cup on November 20.

First Half of England vs Germany

In the first half of the match, England’s Raheem had a best chance to score for either side midway but after his clever cut-back, his effort was all palmed away by Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Although Gareth Southgate’s side were looking dangerous, there wasn’t any end result as Sterling continuously fired at Ter Stegen following a full-field run to get onto Kane’s ball.

In the early Second half, Germany scored first from the penalty spot after Harry Maguire fouled Jamal Musiala in the area.

After 15 minutes, Havertz made a perfect shot in from a distance which left no chance for Nick Pope. Soon enough 70 minutes passed and Shaw and substitute Mount started to level up to bring the match back on terms.

Nico Earned a Yellow Card

Nico stamp on Jude which made him earn a yellow card and a chance for England to take the lead from the spot. However, Pope made a mistake as he made a long-range shot back into the Havertz path to side foot into the back of the net and the game ended with 3-3.

Now England’s team will face Iran, US, and Wales in Group B in Qatar, while Germany will face Japan, Spain and Costa Rica in Group E.

In a recent interview, Flick said, “We were quite stable at 2-0, but England brought on a couple of substitutes that made them better offensively.”

“But we have to look at it positively as well. I said to my players that they showed great courage and never gave up so it was great to come back.”

Upcoming Matches

It’s been more than 100 years since England last went 6 competitive games without a win, however at least they changed the narrative this time with a stirring comeback against Germany.

Previously, on last Friday, Germany lost to Hungary by the score of 1-0 while England lost to Italy by the same score of 1-0.
