Rajasthan Royals a.k.a RR is the first-ever team to lift the IPL trophy in IPL 2008. The RR franchise represents the Rajasthan state of India. The franchise was founded in 2008 and in its first season, they were crowned for IPL championship the team instantly become popular. The team is based in Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, and is owned by RedBird Capital Partners Manoj Badale, Lachlan Murdoch, and Shane Warne.
Sanju Samson is leading the Rajasthan Royals as of now and Kumar Sangakkara is its coach. The team has many supporters due to its brilliant performance over the years in IPL. Shane Warne was named its captain during the franchise formation. In 2013, the RR become runner-up in the captaincy of Rahul Dravid.
Past History and Achievements of Rajasthan Royals in IPL
In 2008 the first season of IPL, Rajasthan royals defeated Chennai Super Kings by three wickets and won the IPl championship title. Shane Warne was leading the team during that year and MS Dhoni was the captain of CSK.
In 2015, some controversy occurred in the RR franchise when they violated some bidding rules resulting in BCCI banning RR for 2 years from IPL according to Wikipedia. They were suspended from the IPl season 2016 and 2017. In January 2018, they enter in IPl again and BCCI declared Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur to host the home matches of the Royals where they played their last match in 2015.
The last IPL season for Rajasthan Royals was for fluke as they finished in 2nd place and won 9 matches out of 14 games. In the 2020 playoffs, Rajasthan Royals recorded their accomplishment as the highest run chase in IPL against Punjab Kings. Punjab Kings finished the match with extensive runs 223/2 Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul gave tough competition by hitting 106 in 50 balls and 69 in 54 balls respectively. So basically, Rajasthan Royals couldn’t quite catch the game even though Sanju Samson and Steve Smith both scored half-centuries.

Rajasthan Royals Match Fixtures and Venues
Rajasthan Royals will kick start the IPL 2023 against SRH on 2 April at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. They will play the first two matches in Guwahati before playing reminder matches in their home Jaipur.

Strengths and Weaknesses of RR in IPL 2023
Rajasthan Royals has formed a strong team in terms of core strength. Sanju Samson is leading the team and he may contribute some significant positive impact. They haven’t held a trophy for the last 15 years and this time they can achieve this by building a strong squad.
Strengths
Joseph Buttler is a prominent player in the squad, he comes with extensive experience of 82 matches and 2831 runs in IPL. The Rajasthan franchise has acquired him for 10 crores in this auction. Ravichandran Ashwin is coming with wicket-keeping skills, his promising performance in IPL 2022 of 12 wickets in 17 matches.
Weaknesses
The Rajasthan Royals franchise has included many talents in the squad due to which their batting game seems strong. However, their bowling department seems not very potential, there is no big name of bowler in the list apart from Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Sen.
