Mixed Doubles Semifinal 1: On Wednesday at the Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne. Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna defeated 3rd-seeds Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk to advance to the Mixed Doubles Championship Finale with a 7-6/ 6-7/ 10-6 Victory at the Australian Open 2023. Following some outstanding play from the British-American duo in the 2nd set’s tie-breaker, the Indian pair, who had captured the 1st set and stood on match point in the 2nd, had to endure until the tremendous tie-breaker.

Following a tie in the initial set, the Indians quickly took control of the Super Tie-breaker. Sania won the encounter with a brilliant backhand winner that gave her 3 Match points. Mirza then finished off the Match with a smash shot that Krawczyk was unable to recover.

Mixed Doubles Semifinal 1: In the Championship Finale, Rafael Matos and Luisa Stefani of Brazil will square off against Mirza and Bopanna. Mirza stated that this would be her Final outing in a Tournament prior to the 1st Grand Slam of the season commenced at Melbourne Park.

Following trying to split the initial 2 sets, the Indian duo jumped out to an early advantage in the terrific Tiebreaker. The Indian duo had a Match point, but Skupski’s devastating forehand prevented it. Bopanna netted a shot to lose the break outright on the following point, which was on deuce.

Mixed Doubles Semifinal 1: Sania and Bopanna quickly built a 5-point lead in the ultimate set. They then maintained their serve the rest of the way to win 10-6 and go to the Championship Finale Match. To advance the Indian duo to the Final, Mirza produced the ideal backhand smash. Before her last Championship, Mirza, 36, didn’t alter her strategy and remained committed to giving it her all.

Since this is Sania Mirza’s Final Grand Slam Competition, she will now be focusing on winning her Final Championship.

Mixed Doubles Semifinal 1: In the Semi-Final that lasted 1 hour and 52 mins, the unseeded Indian duo defeated 3rd seeds, Desirae Krawczyk and Neal Skupski. After making her professional breakthrough at the same Competition 18 years prior. Sania will compete in the Mixed Doubles Championship Finale match.

At the Australian Open in 2009, Sania and her countryman Mahesh Bhupathi captured the Mixed Doubles Championship for their maiden Grand Slam Victory. Together with Swiss player Martina Hingis, she captured the Women’s Doubles Championship in 2016.

Mixed Doubles Semifinal 1: In their initial Match, Mirza and Bopanna defeated locals Jaimee Fourlis and John Peers 7-5/ 6-3.

On Monday, they defeated Ariel Behar of Uruguay and Makoto Ninomiya of Japan, 6-4/ 7-6 (9) to go to the Quarter-Final. Rafael Matos and Luisa Stefani from Brazil will be up against Sania and Rohan in the Finale.
