Korda vs Medvedev: In the 3rd round of the Australian Open on Friday, Sebastian Korda outplayed Daniil Medvedev to continue building on his strong start to 2023. He won 7-6/ 6-3/ 7-6.

During the opening point, the American struck the ball with assurance versus Medvedev, the 7th-seeded player. In order to earn a berth in the 4th round, he successfully converted 5 out of 10 break points and maintained composure in the 1st and 3rd set tie-breaks during Korda vs Medvedev encounter. Korda vs Medvedev: In a close 1st set, Korda quickly took a 4-1 advantage after 2 initial serve breaks. After Medvedev responded with 2 breaks of his own, the opening set was brought into a dramatic tiebreak, which Sebastian Korda won 9-7 following 85 minutes of back and forth.

During the initial set’s 85 minutes, Medvedev rallied to take the advantage 5-4. The 26-year-old Russian was in the advantage in a set for the 1st time in the contest. Eventually, the set entered a tie-break, which the American Korda won 7-1 by domination.

Korda vs Medvedev: In the 1st stage, Medvedev advanced to the 3rd round by defeating John Millman 7-5/ 6-2/ 6-2 against a supportive audience. The Russian defeated Marcos Giron in the opening round with just 3 games lost, but he originally faced harder opposition from Millman, who frequently engaged in lengthy exchanges.

The No. 7 seeded Medvedev won the U.S. Open 2 years earlier and did lose to Novak Djokovic in the finals of the Australian Open in 2021. Medvedev also lost to Rafael Nadal in the final of that tournament in 2022. The 26-year-old Russian Medvedev has already claimed 15 singles championships.
