Amit Rohidas’ goal in the opening frame appeared to be sufficient compensation for India‘s vigor and enthusiasm. Then they alternated between sitting back and counter-attacking high. Hardik Singh scored the 2nd goal after some great sprinting that was ultimately beyond the capabilities of Spain.

IND vs ESP: India’s impeccable defending

An unlucky yellow card for Abhishek resulted in a 10-man (despite the fact that it appeared to be a fair tackle). The closing 10 minutes of the game required some back-to-the-wall defense from India, which they performed admirably. The Indian side could also step up their performance in several respects if they wish to get further in the competition than Spain.

However, Harmanpreet Singh‘s success rate may be a worry, particularly after his missed penalty shot. In the 2nd quarter, India continued to develop their strategy and create tantalizing possibilities. But they were forced to battle the tenacious Spanish defense for nearly the whole period.

IND vs ESP: Hardik Singh’s 2nd goal sealed victory for India

Hardik Singh was there in the midst of the drama, demonstrating exactly he is a cut above the rest by deftly gliding over the 25-meter line and pushing into the box in search of attacker Lalit Upadhyay to put up a score.

India continued to execute the identical style of hockey in the 2nd quarter. Although Abhishek was forced to leave the game for 10 minutes due to a bad tackle in the last quarter. If not for Spain’s failed penalty corners, India would have given up a goal within the last 10 mins of action while playing with 10 men. India’s defending saved them, as they were able to keep a 2-0 lead over Spain.

India’s attacking play was quite a disappointing

India overcame Spain, and they may be happy with their defending work as they stopped 3 penalty corners from being converted into goals. Although they particularly struggled in the offense, just 1 of their 6 penalty corners shots were successful. Vice-captain and defensive player Amit Rohidas and playmaker Hardik Singh both netted goals in the 1st and 2nd quarters, respectively.
