England vs Pakistan

During the 7th T20I England vs Pakistan faced off against each other where England’s team came up with a perfect all round performance to defend Pakistan by 67 runs. 

Following this win of England, the visitors won against the host 4-3. The interesting match was held at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. 

Now England’s team will next play against Australia in a three-match series while Pakistan will face New Zealand and Bangladesh.

In the starting of the match, both teams came in front to have a toss. Pakistan’s Captain won the toss and chose to field first as a result England’s team came to batting in the field.

As expected from both teams, visitors had Chris Woakes back in the game while hosts brought back Mohammad Rizwan and Haris Rauf to boost their side. 

The stadium is packed. The fielders have taken their position and batters are on the crease. And the match begins.

The first over has begun and Pakistan started the over with their spinner. An excellent shot welcomed the pace attack of Hasnain. 

Hasnain wanted a review on the second delivery but there was clear light passing through the bat and the ball.

The 4th over finished and the scoreboard for England’s team looks like 39/0 after 4 overs. 

Hasnain once again strikes. The ball seems to be in to the right-hander, Hales however completely missed it.

The game was going smoothly and Suddenly a massive blunder from England as Phil Salt was run out in the poorest ways. 

Phil Salt, who scored 20 runs off 12 balls, was run out by Shadab Khan as he used a loopy throw. 

The 5th over was about to finish and Hasnain again took the advantage as he conceded one more wicket. 

The 5th over is finished and the scoreboard looks like 48/5.

The 8th over has finished and the scoreboard is like 77/2. 

The game was finally going fine for visitors as Rizwan managed to grab another wicket from their opponents as he ran out Ben. 

As a result Ben Duckett, who scored 30 runs off 19 balls went back to pavilion. 

The first 10 overs have finished and England has already lost 3 wickets. However the good news was the team has already crossed the 100 mark on the scoreboard. 

The 16th over has finally finished and the scoreboard looks like 154/3. 

Malan has shown an amazing performance as he crossed the 50 off 34 balls. The player had left his opponents frustrated by one after another six and four. 

Pakistan’s player was looking quite frustrated as they lost multiple catches of Dawid Malan while the player had made full use of it. 

The last over has finally finished. England has made 209 runs. Now Pakistan need to chase 210 runs to win and if they did, it will be the highest chase in the Gaddafi Stadium. 

England vs Pakistan Second Half Highlights 

The chase started as Pakistan’s team came into the crease. Babar Azam has the first boundary of the innings. 

A full length delivery on the pads while Babe glances it through the on-side through mid wicket. 

And Pakistan lost their skipper earliest in the Power Play as Babar Azam dismissed for 4 runs. 

Now Rizwan has come into the crease as Babar went back to the pavilion.

Rizwan seemed to rumble and a Yorker came in front of him which he didn’t know how to play, resulting in his stumps rattling. 

And once again Pakistan lost another wicket with Rizwan who scored 1 run off 4 balls. 

The 2nd over finally finished with Iftikhar Ahmed who scored the 4 at the end of the over. The player tried to heave the ball on the leg side, however another skier dropped. 

Pakistan’s other player lost his wicket as Willey caught Ahmed, who scored 19 runs off 16 balls. The host has lost their 3rd wicket now. 

It seems like the visitors weren’t allowing the host to get away in the Power Play.

Instead they were making sure Pakistan didn’t have any feathers to fly after the Power Play ended.

The 6th over finished and Pakistan’s scoreboard looked like 37/3. Adil Rashid brought back into the attack. 

A decent over by Adil. No boundaries in the last 13 balls. Just 4 runs of the over. The 8th over finished and the scoreboard looks like 46/3. 

The game was looking way too plain from Pakistan’s side and at the moment, Shan Masood hit a maximum. 

Finally some run for the hosts after a drought of boundaries. However, the visitors looked rather more planned. 

They weren’t giving any chances to their opponents to take advantage. As a result,  Pakistan again lost their 4th wicket as Khushdil Shah, who scored 27 runs off 25 balls. 

Pakistan was looking in a pretty bad state as the team still needed 118 runs off 36 balls. They were dealing in singles rather than going for big shots. 

The situation was quite desperate resulting in Asif Ali swiveling the ball between backward square and fine leg which made him lose his wicket. 

Asif Ali who scored 7 runs off 9 balls now went back to the pavilion. Fans were looking disappointed after seeing the host’s performance. 

The crowd started leaving the stadium that was quite packed at the beginning.

Looking at the situation, Mohammad Nawaz takes the matter in his hands as he hits one straight back past a bowler for 4 runs.

After an elongated inning, Shan, who scored 56 runs off 43 balls also dismissed after he was caught by Adil Rashid. 

Pakistan lost another wicket as Mohammad Wasim. The 20th over finally finished and England won the match by a large margin of the 67 runs.
