The 2nd half saw the Danish side pick up the pace. Christian Eriksen sent a wheezing left-foot drive that goalie Aymen Dahmen stopped in the sixty-ninth- minute, and Andreas Cornelius headed the ensuing corner just wide with his heading effort.

As the Danes tried to smash them through, Tunisia guarded staunchly and intimidated on the breakaway. In the end Tunisian supporters thrilled with a draw that prepares them for their forthcoming match versus Australia, whereas Denmark plays the French side.

In their debut World Cup match, Tunisia and Denmark drew 0-0.

DEN vs TUN: Denmark’s goals were prevented by Tunisian Defence

DEN vs TUN: Denmark possessed the play more often, but Tunisia’s aggressive defense and a few poorly executed deliveries thwarted its ambitions.

When Issam Jebali went through the defense and positioned up one-on-one with Kasper Schmeichel of Denmark in the forty-third minute, the Tunisian side came dangerously close to scoring. Schmeichel, however, managed to grab his shot. Anis Ben Slimane of Tunisia had managed to go past 2 defensive players and deposited the ball in the goal.

But he was adjudged to be offside.

Denmark become more dangerous as the game progressed. Aymen Dahmen blocked a chance from Denmark’s Christian Eriksen toward the sixty-ninth minute. Shortly afterward, Andreas Cornelius’ spectacular close-range header also missed the net. In extra period, Jesper Lindstrom’s long-range shot got a spectacular stop by Dahmen.

Both sides were in need of a victory.

These nations and Australia are competing for the remaining qualification slot, with powerful France likely taking one from Group D.

DEN vs TUN: The Return of Eriksen

DEN vs TUN: Christian Eriksen, a Danish playmaker who fell on the line of work just under eighteen months ago was today’s main topic of discussion before the contest.

Speaking of the Danish side would be incomplete without mentioning the amazing journey of offensive midfield player Eriksen. Eriksen suffered a heart collapse and had to be taken off the stadium during a match versus Finland at Euro 2020 just over one and a half years ago. There was much discussion over whether or not the competition may have proceeded because the situation appeared so terrible.

Miraculously, Eriksen returned as a vital member of the Danish squad just under one year later. Tuesday was his first encounter, and he took Denmark’s pieces. After Simon Kjaer was replaced in the 2nd half, he assumed charge as skipper.

The Danish manager has downplayed discussion of his squad becoming any sort of “favorites” for this competition.

But plenty believes the Euro 2020 semi-finalists will overtake the quarter-finalists of 1998 and contest steadily for the past summer or perform maybe just stronger here in Doha after astounding qualifications and Nations League drags, during which they outscore France at their home side and away side.

Tunisia’s revival

DEN vs TUN: Tunisia is fortunate to actually be back after edging Mali in a playoff game with a hefty measure of luck, but a far stronger run in qualifications for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations revealed a team that secretly hoped they too might make a statement.

Tunisia got out to a greater start than the other team, producing significant early opportunities and outlasting all expectations. Because of the aggression the African team put on them the Danish side had some trouble maintaining possession and struggled the entire game.

The 2nd half began exactly as the previous one did, and despite the fact that Christian Eriksen and Andreas Cornelius gave Denmark 2 excellent scoring opportunities.

Tunisia remained challenging and played solid defense.

The Video assistant referee contacted the official in the last moments of the contest to inquire about a possible penalty for the Danish side, however, the official chose to stand by his judgment and not award the potential handball penalty to the Danish team.

Denmark’s inaugural encounter was disheartening since they anticipated to win rather handily. However, today’s outcomes demonstrated that there are typically some pleasant shocks at the World Cup contests.
