AU vs WIAustralia vs West Indies

The 2nd T20I between Australia vs West Indies held today, on Friday, Oct 7 at The Gabba stadium, Australia.

The match between the two teams were quite interesting as the home team were cruising at 95-1 but they lost three wickets for just five runs, including the important wicket of Warner, who led the team to victory.

On the other hand, the visitors got back into contention.

The match began as West Indies won the toss and decided to bowl first resulting Australian team walked in first onto the crease to do batting.

In today’s match between Australia and West Indies, the Player of the match has gone to David Warner from the Australia team.

The title is given to Warner as he secured the 75 runs off 41 balls alone. Apart from him, no one has made a big number in today’s match.

Australia vs West Indies: Australia lost their first wicket in Power Play

The Australian team started the match with their openers David Warner and Green. Though the team lost their first wicket in the Power Play with Green as Jason caught him.

Green, who scored only 1 run off 4 balls, walked back to the pavilion while the captain Finch walked in.

The Australian team were looking quite pitiful as they had already lost their first wicket in the Power Play and now they lost their other wicket with captain Finch.

Finch were caught at mid-off by Rovman Powell off Obed for 15 runs off 19 balls, snapping an 85-run partnership with Warner.

Aussie lost 3 wickets In quick succession

Finch dropped first still as the host team continued to experiment ahead of the World Cup. He was content to play second.

After smacking two boundaries in the opening over, Warner barely made a wrong move as he raced to his 23rd T20 half-century, bringing up the milestone off 30 balls.

The Australian team reached 88-1 out of which 68 runs were from Warner alone, however at the halfway mark, the visitors pounced as they lost their both players within 6 balls.

The home team were actually doing pretty good while securing their wickets with 95-1, however, they lost three wickets for only 5 runs including Warner’s wicket.

The match’s opener David Warner actually gave us some epic performance in today’s game as he slammed 75 runs alone off 41 balls.

After losing Warner’s wicket, the Australian team were in a dangerous situation as the other players weren’t able to hold their wicket let alone secure runs.

Tim David Came in to Rescue

Glenn Maxwell’s poor run form is still continued, it is actually the topic of discussion.

Well coming back to today’s match Glenn ran out for one as Australia stumbled to 100-4, losing three wickets for five runs.

The situation for the Australian team quite dangerous, but at the moment, the home team sent their best player, Tim David.

He came in time to the rescue as he showed us some entertaining games.

Tim scored a total of 42 runs off 20 balls as he went on to hit three big Sixes! Tim helped the team make a good chase target.

Australia vs West Indies: Windies started their chase with positive intent

The Australian team gave a chase target of 179 runs to West Indies. The visitors’ chase started quite poorly with Kyle Mayers.

From the West Indies side, the openers Charles along Mayers walked into the crease, however, the team lost their first wicket quite early in first over to a reflex catch by Starc off his own bowling.

After losing the first wicket, West Indies sent Brandon, with whom Charles tagged along and both players showed us a good partnership.

The duo made a total of 52 runs off 48 balls. However Charles lost his wicket as Green bowled smoothly and Matthew caught it.

West Indies Captain lost his wickets after 2 runs

The West Indies’ teams were under a lot of pressure as they lost one after another wicket, as first with Charles and then with Brandon, who secured 23 runs, and then with captain Pooran, who only made 2 runs off 3 balls.

The visitors were in a tight situation so the team sent Akeal Hosein into the crease. Akeal secured a total of 25 runs off 19 balls.

He is the only player who secured the highest runs from the West Indies side. However after losing his wicket, the team’s situation worsened.

Mitchell Starc shines with the ball

In today’s match the visitors managed to make just 157-8 with Star taking 4-20, it’s his best figures in a T20.

The hosts clinched the first match by 3 wickets, and the West Indies wanted a quick win in what was their game before the World Cup.

Now they are ready to face off Scotland in the preliminary round on upcoming Monday, October 17.
