Ryan Gibson was the first Strikers victim to go. But Matthew Short and Chris Lynn put up 124 runs off 58 deliveries for the 2nd wicket. Lynn hit six 4s and four 6s his route to a score of 64 off just 29 deliveries.

Eventually, Short emerged as the star of the match. After scoring 100 off 59 with eight 4s and three 6s to remain undefeated. The Hurricanes successfully pursued down 230 with 3 deliveries remaining thanks to his strike.
